Educated in Bradford, Manchester and Sheffield in the UK, Dr Hafferty obtained a first degree in Chemistry followed by a PhD in Environmental Computer Modelling. Following a Post-Doctoral research period Dr Hafferty moved into the computer industry working in a number of senior management positions at the forefront of mini-computer implementation within the commercial markets of the UK and Europe. Following a period with a specialist IT marketing group, Dr Hafferty established a 3D City Modelling enterprise following which he joined forces with Japanese VR specialists FORUM8 in early 2009. He is currently Western Regional General Manager based out of offices in London, San Francisco and Paris. A specialist in business development he has been a speaker at many 3D VR related conferences and seminars and is a member of the TRB visualization group. He is a past Visiting Lecturer to the Leeds Business School and consultant at the University of Leeds Innovations Centre.
